QUESTIONS:
Is this the harness I need for connecting a water temp gauge 4469 to the temperature sensor 2252? I do not have any instructions on how else to install. Thanks.
This would be the correct harness needed for that unit.

To do what 63willys was talking about could i solder the two gray wires together and run them to the gauge and then run the two purple wires one to each side of a toggle switch to change the signal from one sender to the other to the gauge?
Thank you for your question. No, this will not work as both the gray and purple wire need to run back to the gauge from the sensor. You cannot attach this two wire sensor to a switch and toggle back and forth.

If the purple wire is the signal wire what is the gray wire?
Thank you for your question. The gray wire is 5v signal reference.

I currently have your Trans. Temp gauge and sender. I would like to have two senders in different areas of the trans. but have no room for another gauge. Could I hook the two harness' to a toggle switch and go back and forth between the two senders?
Thank you for your inquiry. As long as only one sender is connected to the gauge at a time, this will work.

I may have a clearance problem. How far above the mounting surface does the sensor extend? How far above the top of the sensor does the senor clip extend.
Hello,
Thank you for your question. The body of the sensor is 2". With the harness attached to the sensor it adds an additional 1/4".

I would like to shorten the harness to fit my application. Can I buy terminals for either connector and what style are they?
Thank you for the question. We would usually advise against shortening the harness, especially on a temperature gauge since it uses resistance. Not that shortening would affect that directly, but ensuring that you reestablish zero resistance with any modification. While we do not actually sell the connectors and pins, if you reach out to our service team by email, we may be able to provide some more details on the size and brand of the parts. https://www.autometer.com/contacts

I'm using the gauge as the sender in my set up and hooking it up to a digital fan controller. The fan controller only has one screw terminal though and there are two wires, gray and purple. Which one do I use for the terminal?
Thank you for your question. The purple wire is the signal wire.

Is there a longer version of this for my digital trans temp gauge?
Hi Wiesey, thank you for contacting us. Sorry, no longer harness option available for the digital and full sweep electric gauges. While we don't recommended it lightly, you could extend with 22 gauge wire, but it's critical that the connections are zero resistance, ideally soldered connections.
