I have a set of Classic Instrument gauges on my '51 GMC, set up for my existing 350/350 set-up. I'm putting a 6.0ls and 4L60. Will these adapt the signal for these gauges?

Asked by: Larry C.
The adapters are for if you have short sweep electrical gauges that use parts 2258 and 2242 respectively. I would take a look at the manual "Download PDF" as it would have all the information you may need for hook up on an LS Motor and contact our service department if you have questions.

On the 5284 kit, I know it says it fits all LS engines, but I was wondering if the adapters would fit a 2002 Cadillac LQ9 engine or if you have something else for it?

Asked by: Sebas
lq9 is an ls based engine. it's the 6.0 ls engine with the truck intake etc. so it will fit the metric ports such as the oilpressure port and the heads for the coolant temp sensor. the resistor is for your rpm gauge to work correctly. you will have to jump that into ur signal wire to the gauge and set at 4 cylinder.

I have an autometer manuel temp gaugeand I'm installing it into the head of a 350 chevy V-eight. I think the thread size is 3/8 pipe. will this 5284 kit work or do you have what I need? The gauge size is larger.

Asked by: Anonymous
The 5284 is only for LS motors, which used a smaller metric threaded port. Your 350 likey has a ½ NPT port, which is the standard fitting that will be included with all of our mechanical temp gauges.

Would this work for the unit 7548

Asked by: Aluna
Hi, This 5284 LS Install Kit is for water temp and oil pressure. The standard install for an oil temp gauge is directly into the oil pan. We do offer a weld in bung: https://www.autometer.com/1-8-npt-weld-in-adapter.html Thanks, Jim

Hi I have got 5284 kit for my LS engine.  the temperature sending unit does not get fully threaded into the adapter. Similar to the photo attached in your instructions. Is this normal? Thanks

Asked by: Abdul1978
This is normal to see as the threads are NPT so they will tighten down finger tight and then only need 2 turns on the wrench to get it properly snug.
