QUESTIONS:

how do you hook up a shift lite to this tach i have shiftlite 5335 2 wires

Asked by: wired
This tachometer has no shift light function. You would need a self-contained shift light such as this one: https://www.autometer.com/silver-dpss-tube-level-1.html

Would these work with Can bus protocol compatible with a Link ECU?

Asked by: Ronjezza
This tach would not work off of a CAN output. You would need a 12v square wave tach output to operate this instrument.

I have previously purchased a GPS speedometer and it had a Fluorescent red/orange option. this gauge does not. is the standard pointer a match to the speedo I have? order number 100198924

Asked by: 540 Z28
Yes, it should match. For a long time we had that pointer option there, but it wasn’t necessary since that is the default option.

I have purchased this item. Can I shorten the rear housing of the tachometer to fit a custom application without affecting the operation?

Asked by: Johnny21
Thank you for your question. No, you cannot trim or modify the back of the gauge casing without damaging the gauge. All you can do is remove or shorten the mounting studs.

Will it run a shift light

Asked by: Doger
Thank you for your question. 4494 as well as our other in-dash tachs, do not have a shift light output. If you wanted to use a shift light with this tach you would need either an independent shift light such as part #5343, or you can use our #5312 shift light controller which you can attach a shift light to and program a shift point on that device.

Is the 4494-SP available with a White LED...? Also, how do I add a shift light, appears this does not come with that...?

Asked by: Russell
Hi Russell, the 4494 Memory Tachometer uses a smaller bulb that is not available in a white option. There is no provision for a shift light on the 4494 Tachometer, but you can use either the 5330 or 5334 or any 12V light with our 5312 RPM Switch: https://www.autometer.com/dpss-controller-level-1.html You can also use a standalone, independent light like our 5343: https://www.autometer.com/black-dpss-tube-level-1.html
