QUESTIONS:

Will Product # 9118 work with my Vertex mag, I have the external coil. I already have a Autometer tack and shift light

Asked by: with
Hi, If you have a Vertex OXC external coil mag, this product will work. It will not work with an internal coil mag. You must run RF Suppression plug wires for your tachometer to work properly, however. Thanks, Jim

Can I use this tachometer with a Vertex Mag on a BBC, and what can I use for a shift light with this Mag.

Asked by: With
Hi, This tachometer is designed for standard point or electronic ignitions. It will not work with a Vertex mag. We have no options for Vertex magnetos. Thanks, Jim

compatible with shift lights

Asked by: noMercymercer
Thank you for your inquiry. This tachometer has no provision to drive a shift light. You could certainly use it in conjunction with a stand alone shift light like a 5343: https://www.autometer.com/black-dpss-tube-level-1.html

I currently have a auto meter pro comp 2 rpm dash mount with recall.  I don’t think the gauge is tracking the correct rpm. Should I replace both the gauge and cable?  If so, do you still make that product?m

Asked by: Abby
Hi Abby, thank you so much for contacting us. I'd recommend letting us take a look at your tach to see if there's an issue present. There's never any charge for inspection or diagnosis and we'll of course contact you if there is any work necessary that would cost you money. That way we can tell you 100% what the best course of action would be. Here's a link to our service information form: http://www.autometer.com/media/Service_Form.pdf Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for contacting us. Without quite a bit more detail, it would be very difficult to determine what, if any, modifications would be necessary to your vehicle to install this gauge. I would recommend reaching out to our service team at 866.248.6356, hitting the Chat link at the top of the page or emailing us and we will try to help you determine the best method for installation.
