QUESTIONS:

In my 70 jeep with the Buick v6 the manifold port is 5/16 which will not be large enough for the temp probe to enter. Is there an adapter to to increase the size to 3/8 and allow for the probe to fit

Asked by: Redrum Jeeper
It would be recommended to use the radiator hose fitting adapter kit. It comes in different sizes.

https://www.autometer.com/mechanical-temperature-5-8-18-unf-to-m16x1-5.html Thank you for your inquiry. The 2263 is not 3/8" NPT. See the 2275 linked above for a M16X1.5 adapter.

Is Product # 2263 the adaptor I need to put my Autometer Comp mech water temp gauge in my small block 350.????

Asked by: tooloud
Thank you for your question. We do not have vehicle specific installation information. This fitting will adapt our mechanical water temp gauge to a 3/8" NPT threaded hole. If you have a port on your application that 3/8" NPT, this is certainly the correct adapter for you.

I have an after market temperature gauge with a 5/16: diameter sensor. What s the hole size in this adapter?

Asked by: pops jim
I can't remember exactly, but the fitting itself is 3/8 so the sensor I believe is 5/16.

I have a 1jz gte will this fit in the water neck? I have the mechanical water temp guage but need an adapter to fit inti the engine.

Asked by: Mason
Hi Mason, we have no specific information on your 1jz gte, but if it's similar in size to this 3-3/8" NPT, it's more likely an M16 x 1.5 thread, which was very common on Toyota models. The M16 x 1.5 adapter for our mechanical gauge would be model 2275.

Does this fitting fit in an Ls head 5.3 241 head's

Asked by: Kevo
Hi Kevo, thank you so much for contacting us. The port on an LS cylinder head is an M12 x 1.5 thread. You can use this adapter to install an electronic gauge: https://www.autometer.com/electric-temperature-or-pressure-1-8-npt-to-m12x1-5.html An air core gauge (short sweep electronic) will also require the 2259 shallow depth sending unit: https://www.autometer.com/shallow-depth-electric-temperature-sender-250-300-and-340-deg.html There is no way to use a mechanical temperature gauge with the existing port on an LS derived cylinder head without expanding the port. You'd have to use a radiator hose adapter for a mechanical temp gauge: https://www.autometer.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=radiator+hose#1&profile=products Hope this helps!
