QUESTIONS:

The speedometer needle bounces all around the entire range when my vehicle is started. It continues to bounce around the entire range after I start driving. Is this a wiring issue or something else? Troubleshooting a new build.

My speedometer was working great & I love the product. I started my car and the needle did it’s usual start motion.  Then to my surprise it went pass 160 mph mark and it’s been stuck there since.  No driven mileage showing either. Help me out

Will this speedometer hook to a GM 4L80E and work without using the GPS sending unit? Thanks

Asked by: CarterRay80
Thank you for your question. If you have a VSS to give the speedometer a signal, yes it will work off that just fine without needing a GPS sending unit. If you do not have a VSS already, you can use our #5291 and give the speedometer a signal with that as an additional alternative to a GPS module.

Is it possible to have these in a different color? Such as all black (obviously not making the numbers black), or no chrome/brushed steel look?

Asked by: Lyphrus
Thank you for your inquiry. regarding the 1288. American Muscle instruments are very unique, and their construction and appearance cannot be modified. They can only be built and shipped as shown in the image on our website.

Can the odometer be set to the current vehicle milage?

Asked by: Erik O
Thank you for your question. Yes, after we have received payment for the tach, you can either send it to us or request a certain mileage upon purchasing the tach and we can set the odometer for you. Only we can do this at the factory and miles cannot be taken off an odometer for legal reasons.
