QUESTIONS:
Can this be mounted on a vintage BSA motor bike?
Hi oldie,
While it was not designed for motorcycle use, you could adapt this to your bike, keeping in mind it isn't water resistant. It will require a correct drive cable. It will need a 5/8-18 thread, .104" square drive, and be driven at a ratio of 1:1, or 1,000 RPM=60mph.
Thanks,
Jim

I have a new Autometer 1796 speedometer head that I need to install in a 1982 Datsun/Nissan 720 pickup. The truck has a diesel engine with a 5 speed transmission. I am looking for a speedometer cable to match up with this transmission. Thank you

The mounting hole is 3 1/8" is this correct? What is the OD of trim?
Hi Tom, thank you so much for the question. That is correct. The hole diameter to mount the 1796 in a dash is 3-1/8". The OD on the bezel is 3-3/4".
