QUESTIONS:

Can this be mounted on a vintage BSA motor bike?

Asked by: oldie
Hi oldie, While it was not designed for motorcycle use, you could adapt this to your bike, keeping in mind it isn't water resistant. It will require a correct drive cable. It will need a 5/8-18 thread, .104" square drive, and be driven at a ratio of 1:1, or 1,000 RPM=60mph. Thanks, Jim

I have a new Autometer 1796 speedometer head that I need to install in a 1982 Datsun/Nissan 720 pickup. The truck has a diesel engine with a 5 speed transmission. I am looking for a speedometer cable to match up with this transmission. Thank you

The mounting hole is 3 1/8" is this correct? What is the OD of trim?

Asked by: Tom Little
Hi Tom, thank you so much for the question. That is correct. The hole diameter to mount the 1796 in a dash is 3-1/8". The OD on the bezel is 3-3/4".
