QUESTIONS:

my voltage gauge shows the battery voltage with the power OFF. Is that correct? I have something draining my battery (about 2 days) and the volt meter and radio are the only two items I can find with voltage when the power is off.

Asked by: Jeffrey1938
Your volt meter appears to have been connected to a constant 12 volt source. It should be connected to a fuse panel source that is off when the vehicle is off.

Can the Autometer #4391 Volt meter be calibrated? The gauge shows approx 12.2Volts when the car is running. Checking the actual charge at the battery with a multimeter shows 13.4 V.

Asked by: Fredmo
Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, it cannot be calibrated.

What is the plus/minus accuracy of the reading?

Asked by: Horse
Thank you for contacting us. Due to the nature of a short sweep electric gauge and the compressed range, there is not a great deal of precision. We would usually allow no more than about 2-3% tolerance. You would find more precision and accuracy in the full sweep electric 4383.

recent purchased car with pro comp gages no lite how to change bulb

Asked by: pj 40rod
Thank you for your question. The bulbs are on the backside that twist out. You would need part #3220 or a 161 GE Bulb.

Recently purchased this gauge and it is misreading 14V off of my 12V battery. Does this gauge need to be calibrated?

Asked by: TimB
Hi Tim, Your vehicle should be showing about 12.4 volts with engine off, and 13.6 to 14 volts with the engine running. If you are seeing 14 volts with the engine off, please contact our Tech Support Team at 866-248-6357. Thanks, Jim

How do I wire it up

Asked by: Danny 62
Thank you for your question. You will wire the ground terminal to a good engine or chassis ground. You will wire the Ignition terminal to a 12v power source. That is all the wiring necessary for this gauge.
