Velvet drive Marine Transmission has two possible sensor mount locations.  Pressures 140 PSIG or 40 PSIG. What is max safe working pressure of temp transmitter 2258.  Hi pressure port preferred.

Asked by: Captain Mark
140 PSI will not damage this temp sensor.

Will this gauge work with a T56 magnum manual transmission, can you put the temp sensor were the drain plug goes

Asked by: DannyBBC
Hello, You can put the temp sensor into the drain plug port however an adapter would be needed in order to achieve this.

I want to put my temperature sender in the transmission pan of my Jeep LJ. It has a 14 x 1.5 thread size. Do you make a sender that would directly bolt into the pan. I have an adapter but after I add the sender it hits my transmission skid.

Asked by: Jeep Lj
We do not have a sender that is 14MM x 1.5. Our 2259 sender is a shorter sender that is compatible with this gauge and it will work in our 2267 adapter. We couldn't say for sure if that would solve your clearance problem, though.

What are the power requirements for both the incandescent bulb and gauge operation? What bulb type is used in the 2640 gauge?

Asked by: MikeyA
12V and the amp draw is extremely minimal on the gauge alone. The light we include is a 12V light and the bulb is a #161. Officially rated as 14V light at 2.66 watts.

Hi, i want to install this gauge to a project car. There is no transmission oil cooler on that MT-82 transmission. Is there a plug where the sending unit goes into, and if yes which one?

Asked by: coach36
We’re not familiar with this transmission in particular. If you have a port, if you’re able to tell us what size thread that port is, we may be able to offer more advice. If you could provide that information via email at [email protected], we will have someone reach out in reply.

I have the AUTO METER 2640 Z-Series Electric Transmission Temperature Gauge and need a shorter sending unit. Will the AUTO METER 2259 Electric Temperature Sender work with this gauge?

Asked by: Jeep Lj
Yes, the 2259 is compatible and an option when coming across a clearance issue.

Exactly how deep does the cavity have to be for dash panel mount? It will be tight.

Asked by: Al Ford E350
Thank you for your question. You would need a 4" of clearance to be safe.
